Manly LSC is having a fundraiser this Saturday evening 5pm til late.  We have volunteers manning the BBQ, meat trays from our local legend the Fairlight Butcher. Beer suppliers Eumundi, Malt Shovel Xpa and Kosci have donated full kegs. We have volunteer bar staff and local band Lydia in the Middle (with friends) have donated their time to make this a successful night.

We are looking to get a crowd of locals to show solidarity with our Bush cousins (we are aiming for $5000 - it's the cheapest craft beer with the best view on the Northern Beaches!

The B&B are advertising a gold coin donation (or a "ramp tax" depending on who you talk to) on Saturday morning.  We are hoping there will be a representative from the Salvation Army will be there too.

Here is our fundraising page and a flyer about the event.

Sydney Airport Centenary Runway Run, on Saturday 23 November.
On behalf of Surf Life Saving Sydney I would like to extend an invitation to your members to participate in the SLSS / Sydney Airport Centenary Runway Run, on Saturday 23 November.
In what could be a one-off event, our members (and yours) will have the opportunity to run down an active runway below planes as they take off and return for landing. SLSS is the Sydney Airport Centenary Charity Partner and our main objective is to use this unique event to promote surf safety to the community in a fun, engaging way.
On the day we will be holding several SLS member exclusive races (see details below), and we would love to see some SLS SNB lifesavers and/or club colours among the mix!
Attached is the formal event flyer - registrations can be completed online using Eventbrite:

Chieftain Challenge 15th December 2019
This event combines beach running and swimming from Bongin Bongin Bay to Warriewood. There are four swim legs and three runs along the way. There are a few soft sand runs available from surf clubs around Sydney, but there is only one other event like this one on the calendar: the 3 Points Challenge run by North Curl Curl SLSC. Much of the running at that event, though, is along hard paths. The Chieftain Challenge is different, in that all the runs are along the sand of one long beach, so you don’t need running shoes.
Total swim distance is 1.9km broken into four legs, interspersed with three runs totalling 1.5km ending with a 50m sprint up the beach to the line. Click here for details

Sydney Coastrek
Coastrek is owned and managed by Wild Women on Top and has inspired nearly 38,000 people, mostly women, off the couch and into hiking, raising $35 million for charity. Coastrek is a 15km, 30km & 60km team trekking challenge, for fun, fitness, friends and fundraising which journeys along some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.  These events involve a 12-week fitness program, culminating in hikes in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sunshine Coast. Teams of four, with at least 50% women, have between 5, 10 and 18 hours to complete the adventure, getting fit while raising money for Beyond Blue. Click here for details
