Standard Operating Procedures
The current version of the Lifesaving SOPs is Version 6, 2019. This is an electronic document and is not available in hardcopy. Clubs that need additional copies can download it from the SLSNSW website here. It is recommended that Patrol Captains download a copy of this onto their smart device that they also use to access the Patrol Operations App when on patrol.
The Sydney Northern Beaches Branch has the following additional requirements for Club’s lifesaving services:
- Minimum Bronze Medallion numbers of each patrol are as per each Club’s Lifesaving Service Agreement. In some cases, this may be more than the minimum requirements stated in the SLSNSW Standard Operating Procedures.
- The ICMS patrol tents should be erected during patrol hours, even if the beach is closed, unless it is unsafe to do so. Whenever a patrol tent is not erected, or is lowered during patrol hours, Patrol Captains must inform SurfCom of their decision.
