Surf Life Saving - Sydney Northern Beaches

Standard Operating Procedures

The current version of the Lifesaving SOPs is Version 5, 2016. All SNB Clubs were provided with a hard copy at the beginning of the 2016-17 season. Clubs that need additional copies can download it from the SLSNSW website here.

The Sydney Northern Beaches Branch has the following additional requirements for Club’s lifesaving services:

  • Minimum Bronze Medallion numbers of each patrol are as per each Club’s Lifesaving Service Agreement. In some cases, this may be more than the minimum requirements stated in the SLSNSW Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The Streets patrol tents should be erected during patrol hours, even if the beach is closed, unless it is unsafe to do so. Whenever a patrol tent is not erected, or is lowered during patrol hours, Patrol Captains must inform SurfCom of their decision.
