Surf Life Saving - Sydney Northern Beaches

As a not-for- profit charity, sponsorship is crucial to supporting our operations. Our combined sponsorship income saves us in the vicinity of $25 per member reducing the burden on our members and clubs who volunteer their time and resources to keep our beaches safe.

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is an award-winning higher education institution located in the Northern Beaches Council, Sydney, NSW, Australia. The college, founded in 1996, is a leader in career-focused, quality education where almost 90% of graduates are employed in their field before graduation. The campus overlooks Manly Beach.

ICMS and Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches entered into a support  partnership in 2018 with ICMS providing our patrol tents for our 21 Clubs. In addition, SLSSNB provides a scholarship to an ICMS student who then works with us as an intern as part of their development. ICMS also co-sponsor our Awards of Excellence.


Unilever Streets

Streets Ice Cream is Australia’s biggest and best known ice cream manufacturer and has been sold throughout Australia and New Zealand since 1920. We have all grown up with and enjoyed Streets well-known brands such Magnum, Cornetto, Golden Gaytime, Paddle Pop and Callipo. Few foods are guaranteed to put a smile on people's faces like Streets Ice Cream. Ice cream products should always be fun, but Streets have supplemented theirs with an ever-growing range of lower-fat, lower-sugar products.

Our Club canteens and kiosks stock a range of popular Street’s products helping them to raise funds for lifesaving activities.

DHL, through its national sponsorship of Surf Life Saving Australia, provides uniforms for our volunteer surf lifesavers and funding for our Branch to support our Clubs.



Telstra Corporation Limited is Australia's largest telecommunications and media company which builds and operates telecommunications networks and markets voice, mobile, internet access, pay television and other entertainment products and services.

Through its national sponsorship of Surf Life Saving Australia, Telstra provides uniforms for our volunteer surf lifesavers and funding for our Branch to support our Clubs.


Key Supporters


Dee Why RSL Club

Dee Why RSL Club is the largest Club on the Northern Beaches and has a long standing tradition of providing community support. They support several of our SLS Clubs and the Branch through their Club grant programs. I recent years Dee Why RSL Club has donated funds that have helped us buy vital rescue equipment including two Rescue Water Craft and more recently our new Surf Rescue vehicle.

Dee Why RSL Club provides discounted packages for our Clubs to host their events at the Club and assists with fundraising through Cash Housie and raffles.


Cancer Institute NSW

The Cancer Institute NSW is a pillar organisation of NSW Health, providing the strategic direction for cancer control in NSW. Driven by the goals in the NSW Cancer Plan the Institute has a 13 year history of working in partnership with all involved in the cancer community to:

·         reduce the incidence of cancer in the community

·         increase the survival rate for cancer patients

·         improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their carers

·         provide a source of expertise on cancer control for the government, health service providers, medical researchers and the general community

The Cancer Institute NSW provides funding to our Surf Life Saving School, enabling us to visit schools throughout Sydney and deliver a combined Surf Safety and Sun Safety message to around 16,000 children annually. Our focus is on reducing preventable skin cancers.


St George Foundation

The St George Foundation provided grant funding in 2018 to allow us to provide regular programs for up to 1,800 school children attending Stewart House. Our programs are designed to give the children a safe beach experience (summer months) and to learn about the surf and how to stay safe at the beach. Our most experienced instructors provide a structured but fun based program - some of the children have never seen the surf before.

Every year 1,800 public school children attend Stewart House's safe haven next to Curl Curl beach at no cost to their parents or carers. During a 12 day stay they are provided with dental, optical, hearing and medical screening and treatment.

Children participate in educational programs and excursions designed to develop their social and emotional skills, build self-esteem and improve their overall well-being.

This experience provides children with a much needed break from their current circumstance. Our children are inspired to see beyond the present and to have real hope and positive aspirations for their future.

Children in the care of Stewart House attend a specific purpose school onsite for 8 days of their 12-day stay. The NSW Department of Education provides infrastructure and staffing support for this school.


Speedo Australia are our official swimwear partners and 

support our interbranch team with impressive new uniforms.

Speedo also co-sponsor our Awards of Excellence and are the sponsor of our Junior Lifesaver of the Year Award. Clubs are able to access a great range of club swimwear through the partnership and SLSSNB members get a great discount year-round at Speedo' Warringah Mall store.


Westfield Warringah Mall

After extensive rebuilding and improvements in 2016, Westfield Warringah Mall now boast more than 70 new stores adding to the already extensive range of quality retailers. 

Westfield Warringah Mall has supported us for many years through a variety of programs including providing uniforms for our Surf Sports Officials, programs that provide funding for our Nippers including sponsoring our Junior Branch Championships, and supporting programs such as our “Between the Flags” photo competition with Westfield vouchers as prizes.


Bill Buckle Auto Group

Located in the heart of the Northern Beaches, Bill Buckle Auto Group have been serving motorists with sales and service on new and pre-owned cars since 1963.

With leading brands such as Toyota, VW, Subaru, Jaguar, and Land Rover, the Bill Buckle Group is our official vehicle partner supporting us by sponsoring our Open Branch Championships, transporting our surf sports equipment to each carnival, and providing a car as a hole-in-one prize for our annual golf day.


United Resource Management - URM

The URM Group is now one of Australia’s largest privately owned waste and recycling companies.

Waste collection was one of the many costs that a Surf Club had to bear but thanks to the generosity of URM, this is no longer a problem. URM collects free of charge all of our recycling and general waste from our Surf Clubs and Branch Office.

RFi Group

RFi Group specialises in data and information gathering, customer based insight generation and business decision support for the world’s leading financial service providers.

RFi Group provides funding that enables our Surf Life Saving School to provide surf based programs for children with special needs. Our Special Needs programs provide opportunities for children with various disabilities to experience a safe and fun time at the beach learning new skills and developing self-confidence.
