High Performance Squad

The High Performance Squad (HPS) was established a couple of years ago and was made up of the Interbranch representative plus a few more people from most age groups who were chosen to train with the team not only to act as reserves in case of injury but also to further develop these athletes.

In 2011/12 the HPS will receive a face lift (subject to final approval from BoSS) and a larger number of athletes will be invited to take part in training sessions and development programs throughout the season. Athletes will be selected from performances from the 2010-2011 season and performances throughout the 2011-2012 season.

The HPS will continue to evolve through the season and beyond to help our local athletes who want to follow the HP pathway all the way to representing Australia. The SNB HPS will align its program to fit in with the SLSA program and hopefully give our athletes the extra edge to achieve their goals in surf sports competition.

The squad will help our Branch Team selectors and coaches keep a close eye on all our elite athletes throughout the season especially at the start, when a branch team is selected to represent SNB at the Interbranch Titles.
