Interbranch Team Selection Criteria 2011/2012
 
1. All competitors are to fill out the special nomination form that will be circulated to all Clubs. The form is to be completed in full and carry the competitors Club’s endorsement.
2. All competitors are to be made aware of the Sydney Northern Beaches Branch Policy Statement on Selection Policy. This document will be circulated to Club Competition Officers and Secretaries.
3. Copies of the nomination forms together with the Policy Statements will be on display on the SNB website. Nomination forms must be lodged with no later than the date of the selection trial.
4. Any rule/guideline that is not covered in the SNB Selection Policy is to be referred to the SLSA National Selection Policy Statement, (June 2003/5.5) including the SLSA guidelines on pregnancy (May 2001/3.3). Clubs are asked to familiarise themselves with this policy on the SLSA website.
5. To be selected in the SNB Interbranch team, 2010/11 results will be considered as well as results of the selection carnivals endorsed by the SNB Competition Panel. Failure to compete, or other extenuating circumstances, and the rights of competitors, are covered in the Policy Statement. This will include the selection of competitors that are currently outside the SNB competition area, but are still members of SNB affiliated Clubs.
6. The Chairman of Selectors is to ensure that the SNB Team, including any team reserves, is published on the SNB website following the selection process and where possible published in the Manly Daily as soon as practical. The Branch will also send to each team member, together with the nominated reserves, a letter informing the team member of their obligations and training schedules.
7. All team members will then be asked to commit to the team and observe the training disciplines that will be set down by the SNB Team Coach, including training dates, and SNB mandatory team appearances. Selection events this year will include:
·         SNB Interbranch Team Selection trial – Beach competitors 9th October
·         SNB Interbranch Team Selection Trial – Water Competitors 16th October
In the event a decision cannot be finalised for certain age groups following the selection carnival, a squad may be announced for this age group and athletes will be asked to attend the following carnivals;
·          Opens – Sydney Water on 22nd of Oct
·         Juniors – Manly JAC 13th of Nov
 
It is important that ALL information on the nomination forms is filled out and that your Club endorsed the form and ensure that all current information is entered into Surfguard.
 
Boats:
The Branch Boat Crews will be an Open Male and an Open Female crew. They will be selected from the 3 rounds of the SNB Boat Series.
