Development Squad 2019-2020

SLSSNB is committed to creating a pathway for our competitors to stay engaged with Surf Lifesaving and further develop their skills. The SNB Development Squad for 2019-2020 has been selected to participate in a program that will help develop a One Team / One Purpose outcome.

Made up of both Water and Beach competitors selected from U10s to U14s age categories (U10s to U13s from 2018-2019 Season), the Squad will undertake a variety of activities running from June 2019 through to the 2020 State Championships. We plan to work with last year’s U14s to help deliver this program.

 Ironperson Training

First kicked off formerly in 2018, the Interclub Ironperson Training program has been developed to provide young athlete’s an environment to train at race pace, building strong friendships and providing access to the best coaching resources regardless of what club they are members of.

The training members are U11 to U13 competitors, selected by club coaches as the Gold Squads of the respective clubs, with a pre-requisite of having made a State Semi-Final in either, Board, Swim or Ironperson. There will be 5 training sessions run through the 2019-2020 season, which will be advertised on the SNB Surf Sports Calendar.

 Selection of Teams

The pathway to the NSW Surf Life Saving team for the Interstate championships, begins with selection in the Interbranch team. Both the Interbranch and Interstate championships are run in the same format, so state selectors watch the Interbranch championships closely to help them with their selections for the state team.
